Visions for Vacancies: 430 North Main Street — Possible Rite Aid

Walgreens isn’t saying which stores will close. Walgreens has 58 stores in Connecticut and Rite-Aid has 77 stores in the State.

Periodically, I’ll feature a commercial building, business or lot for lease and for sale and ask you what you think would be the best use for it.

Forget what zone it’s in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other zoning jargon that puts most people to sleep.

If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

This edition of Visions For Vacancies is 430 North Main Street.

The listing offers two spots. One is the size of Rite Aid and the another is the size of the former Super Natural location.

Walgreens plans to close about 600 drugstores as it completes a $4.38 billion deal to buy nearly 2,000 from rival Rite Aid.

The property is owned by D’Amato Realty.

So, what would you like to see there?

KENT — Students are expected to return this week to a private boarding school in Kent that was evacuated because of flooding. Dorms are expected to open on Wednesday with classes resuming Thursday. The school originally was hoping to reopen sooner but pushed the date back amid efforts to clean and prepare the […]
