Veterans Strong Community Center Bristol CT.

BURLINGTON — On Tuesday, Sept 26th at 12pm Veterans Strong Community Center will host a program for Veterans, Service Members, Military Families, and Military Retirees at Burlington Town Hall.

Guest speaker Donna Dognin Program Manager will discuss the support, services, and assistance available to local residents.

“I hope the services and support we offer make it a little easier for deserving Veterans and Active Service Members.” said Dognin.

Burlington joined seven other towns — Bristol, Southington, Plainville, Wolcott, Plymouth, Thomaston, and Harwinton —  in June to create a regional Veterans Strong Community Center.

Burlington First Selectman Ted Shafer said “Being the son of a Korean War Air Force Veteran has instilled in me the sense of importance in providing effective support and resources to our Veterans and Service Members that enhances the quality of their lives. It is important for the community to honor the commitment and sacrifice to those that have and those who currently serve our country.”

The Center provides assistance with basic needs, financial assistance programs, DD214/records requests, homelessness/housing resources, employment, VA entitlements, funeral/memorial benefits, community/educational programming and many additional services.

Donna Dognin can be reached at 860-584-6258 or at Bristol City Hall, 111 North Main Street, Bristol, CT 06010.
