City to Hold Special Meeting Regarding Possible Complaints Against Mayor Cockayne

City Hall Council Chambers

On Monday, August 14, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. the City will hold a special council meeting at City Hall to discuss possible complaints regarding Mayor Cockayne by City officials and municipal employees.

The Hartford Courant reported during the August council meeting, Mayor Cockayne read a random and unexpected note of apology to Jodi Zils Gagne, District 2 Council member, and his cousin.

The Press reported Cockayne said “There has been tension between myself and Gagne, and this has been caused by a family matter that was taken too far and into politics. We are looking to move past this and iron out our differences.”

The special meeting, however, will look into the matter and consider potential recommendations or actions against the Mayor on the complaints levied against him.

The meeting will be held in executive session with no public participation.
