Bristol Hospital unveiled the renderings of its new Ambulatory Care Center, which will be constructed on the former mall site.

The 60,000-square-foot, three-story building, will house the Bristol Hospital Multi-Specialty Group as well as space for laboratories, physical and occupational therapy services and a first floor cafe.

The building is expected to employ dozens of medical professionals while servicing thousands of patients downtown.

The Hartford Business Journal reported “The hospital has partnered with Florida-based Rendina Healthcare Real Estate, which will build and own the three-story building. The hospital would lease the building from Rendina.”

Rendina will oversee all stages of development from conception to execution, including planning, financing, construction, leasing and property management.

In addition to the sale, the City plans to divide the remaining parcel into smaller lots and install new roads and infrastructure later this year.

The Journal also reported “The deed has not yet transferred, but Mayor Ken Cockayne said the hospital will pay approximately $50,000 per acre for the property.”

Bristol Hospital plans to break ground later this year and complete the Ambulatory Care Center by 2019.
