Bristol resident offers open invitation to local refugee families for gardening project

Submitted photo

As anyone who’s traveled knows, you never lose the taste for home and so much of home is rooted in the food we eat.

I would like to extend an invitation to a refugee family who has relocated to our area to join me gardening project. It is my way of saying welcome.

It must be more difficult than I can imagine to have to leave one’s homeland in order to protect your family and find a better life for your children. We can all relate to that desire.

I know there are many challenges here and I would like to help.

To that end, I have a space in a community garden that I would like to share with a refugee family would enjoy this mutual endeavor.

The lot is in Bristol, so ideally somebody local.

Please contact me through Bristol Roundup for details.

Planting season is upon us, so time is somewhat of the essence. Time to get started. I look forward to helping you plant roots in your new community.
