Lake Compounce to Host Make-A-Wish Walk For Wishes

Lake Compounce

On Saturday May 13th, the annual Walk for Wishes will take place for the first time at Lake Compounce Park in Bristol to benefit Make-A-Wish Connecticut, whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish Connecticut has granted over 2,800 wishes to local children – over 240 last year alone.

This will be the first year the annual Walk for Wishes will take place at Lake Compounce Park.

Walk for Wishes will loop about three miles around the park. The event will take place before the park opens for the day, and admission to the park is being offered as a fundraising incentive.

Renee DiNino of iHeart Radio and Tara Joyce of NBC Connecticut will join the festivities as Masters of Ceremonies. At the conclusion of the walk, Renee and Tara will assist with a surprise wish for a local Connecticut child, granted LIVE in front of all in attendance.

“We are so thrilled to have our Walk for Wishes take place at Lake Compounce Park this year,” shared President & CEO Pam Keough. “It is a beautiful park located in a family friendly environment. And with all our new and exciting incentives, including admission to the park as a fundraising motivator, we hope to reach our goal of $100,000 and make future wishes come true.”

Guests of all ages are encouraged to join the Walk for Wishes Saturday May 13th at Lake Compounce Park. Registration begins at 8:00AM and the Walk will begin at 9:00AM, followed by the Wish Celebration at 10:30AM. Guests can register in advance at http://ct.wish.org/walk.
