Wheeler Health & Wellness Centers in Bristol, Hartford and New Britain will host free community events during the month of March. 

“Be Poison Smart!”

In observation of National Poison Prevention Week, the Wheeler Health & Wellness Centers will host “Be Poison Smart!” Wheeler Nurse Educator, Subrina Razah, RN, will share tips to help keep children safe from common household poisons like prescription drugs and household and other cleaners.

Monday, March 13 from 5–6pm at the Wheeler Health and Wellness Center, 10 North Main Street, Bristol

Tuesday, March 14 from 1–2pm at the Wheeler Health and Wellness Center, 999 Asylum Avenue, Hartford

Friday, March 17 from 12–1pm at the Wheeler Health and Wellness Center, 75 North Mountain Road, New Britain

Open House–Wednesday, March 29

The Wheeler Health & Wellness Center hosts an Open House on Wednesday, March 29 from 10 am–2 pm at 10 North Main Street, Bristol. Tour the Wheeler Health & Wellness Center and receive FREE blood pressure and Body Mass Index screenings.

Wheeler Clinic will also host an informational session for prospective foster parents on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at 88 East Street in Plainville, Connecticut.

This no-obligation event provides information about Wheeler’s foster care programs.  Mature adults who are single or married, working or at home, are encouraged to become foster parents. Those who are interested can stop by the session to learn about foster care without making a commitment of any kind.

Wheeler’s team of experts coordinates services for youth from diverse backgrounds with the goal of providing a nurturing home and a structured environment.

Families are part of a team of professionals and are provided with financial support and training to ensure they are well-equipped to meet the needs of youth in their care.

Wheeler Clinic’s Foster Care programs, funded by the Department of Children and Families, provide 24-hour support to families and youth. Wheeler Clinic’s programs provide a higher level  of support and  resources to  assist families in meeting the needs of youth and children placed in their homes.

WINDSOR LOCKS — For a moment this weekend at Bradley International Airport, there was a flashback to the sun dappled freeways of Southern California of the 1970s. Actor Erik Estrada was traveling through and took a moment to have a picture taken with Connecticut State Trooper Cummings in the terminal. According to comments on the post, Estrada had been at Foxwoods Resort. Estrada starred with Larry Wilcox on “CHiPs” from 1977 to 1983.
