AFC Urgent Care in New Britain

Dr. Iftikhar Ali, Medical Director of AFC Urgent Care in New Britain is offering free flu shots to the general public on Saturday, December 3 – Sunday, December 11 after the popularity of the center’s program that provided free flu shots for retired members of the military on Veterans Day.

AFC Urgent Care wants to ensure that everyone who wants to receive a flu shot is able to, despite their insurance coverage or financial circumstances.

Early December is the ideal month to receive a flu shot for optimum protection from the flu virus.

The flu can lead to life-threatening complications, especially for those with medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease, During recent flu seasons, between 80% and 90% of flu related deaths have occurred in people 65 years and older.

Reducing the overall number of flu cases helps to reduce exposure for the high-risk population.

Located at 135 East Main Street in New Britain, with other locations at 2 Main Street in Danbury and 1030 Boulevard in West Hartford.

The centers are open Monday-Friday from 8am-8pm and Saturday & Sunday from 8am-5pm. Visit www.afcurgentcarenewbritain.com  or call 860-357-6899 for more
