In addition to its regular hours, the Bristol Public Library’s local history room will be open from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. on December 10.

Visitors will have a chance to win a free gift. The collection includes: books, pictures and postcards, city directories, yearbooks, maps, diaries, church and assessor’s records, newspapers on microfilm, cemetery, birth, death, and marriage indexes.

There are also many historical photographs on display, including a wall devoted to Lake Compounce, along with local clocks, Civil War photographs and other items of interest.
