Connecticut’s Fisher House Soldiers to Host Radio Fundraiser

fisherhouse1giphy_0_1478700570

The Fisher House Foundation builds and maintains long term residential facilities near military hospitals nationwide.

The families of seriously ill or injured soldiers need a place to stay during the long and grueling rehabilitation process.

Currently there are 71 Fisher Houses nationwide. Since 1990 they have provided services to over 277,000 families, saved over $320,000,000 in lodging and transportation expenses for families and have offered over 6.5 million days of lodging. The facilities are supported by contributions.

Openings to stay at Fisher House are offered in reverse order of rank, so that lower enlisted soldiers have the first chance to stay at a Fisher House.

“To build a Fisher House on the Campus of the West Haven VA Medical Center will cost $6 million dollars. The business model calls for Fisher House CT to raise $3 million. Thereafter the Fisher House Foundation will match our total from National Corporate Sponsors. We have already made over $2 million dollars! Connecticut’s Fisher House initiative is sponsored by The Creed Law Firm, LLC.”

For the first time ever, Fisher House CT partners with I Heart Radio to host a three and a half day fundraiser across 8 radio stations to raise money for the specific purpose of reaching our $3 million dollar goal.

The products were distributed from April 18 to June 13 in the United States […]

Lawmakers set aside June 29 for possible budget vote

HARTFORD — At least one group of Connecticut legislators says it’s pushing forward with a possible state budget vote before the fiscal year ends June 30, even though there’s currently no agreement. Democratic leaders of the House of Representatives said Thursday their rank-and-file members prefer voting June 29 on a new two-year-budget rather than allowing Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy to use his executive authority to temporarily run state government. If no budget agreement is ready next week, House Speaker […]
