Senator Murphy Endorses Laura Bartok

Senator Chris Murphy

Senator Chris Murphy (D)

Too few young people run for public office in our state. As someone who ran my first race for state representative at age 25, I know personally all the barriers young people find when they try and break into the old boy’s club of politics.

Laura Bartok, State Representative candidate in the 77th District .

Laura Bartok, State Representative candidate in the 77th District .

But this election, voters in Bristol have an opportunity to vote for a hard-working young woman and lifelong Bristol resident, Laura Bartok.

Laura is a close friend. She worked for me when I was representing Connecticut’s 5th District in Congress, and I witnessed how dedicated she was to serving people who needed help from our office.

I know she will work just as hard, and with as much dedication, for Bristol residents if elected to represent the 77th district.

I urge everyone to go out on Tuesday, November 8th, and vote Laura Bartok for State Representative.

Fergie’s rendition of National Anthem at NBA All-Stars game leaves many confused

LOS ANGELES — Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie sung the National Anthem yesterday at the NBA All-Stars game, and her rendition left many confused. She opted for a more “bluesy” version of the song, and a good portion of people watching weren’t buying it.  Although Fergie was on pitch,  her tempo, musical accompaniment and “sexy” delivery was seen as the wrong choice for the song and the venue. I’ve seen the national anthem performed hundreds of times but never in […]

The faculty will be meeting with counselors before school begins, and then will have grief counselors available for parents in the school library. More social […]

Black ice possible Monday morning; Warmer temps later this week

Black ice possible Monday morning; Warmer temps later this week

Get ready for a BIG warm-up that will end up challenging and possibly shattering Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s record high temperatures. There will be a couple of chances of rain, but nothing significant that would cause any flooding.   After the mid-week warm-up, a cold front will crash through and drop us back to the 50’s on Thursday and 40’s on Friday, still well above average for this time of year. Next significant storm may bother us by the weekend with periods […]
