Randolph Howell and his $100,000 Cash5 Top Prize

When Randolph Howell of Bristol saw his Cash5 winning numbers online, he couldn’t help but smile and laugh. “I thought, ‘Probably something wrong with the computer—wow,”

Howell told Lottery officials. “I check these tickets most of the time in my sleep,” the Howell chuckled.

When asked if this winning ticket felt any different, Howell attributed his to win to simple luck and good fortune.

Howell doesn’t want all the winnings to himself and plans to donate a portion to charity; a lesson he learned from his mother. “My mother always taught me, ‘Do good and good will follow you.’”

In addition, Howell plans to treat himself and his wife to a Caribbean cruise vacation, “Some place warm!”

For selling the winning ticket, Avon Citgo located on 74 E Main Street in Avon will receive a $1,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
