The Beat – Bristol’s Rock Mix announced Connecticut Republican Party Chairman J.R. Romano will be the featured guest on their Sunday morning show State of the City this Sunday at 11am.

Host Mike Anthony will sit down with Romano and discuss this year’s highly divisive election and his party’s endorsement of the most controversial Republican Presidential Nominee in U.S. history.

The Hartford Courant is asking why Romano is still defending Trump and that Connecticut Republicans remain divided over Trump while Romano continued to stand by him.

“America is a very forgiving place,” Romano told the Courant.

Steve Gagne owner of The Bristol Beat said “Host Mike Anthony booked Romano on his own and has reached out to the Connecticut Democratic Party Chairman, but never received a response. So we decided to just go with Romano as a solo guest.”

Gagne said the station is doing great. “We’ve received nothing but positive feedback from everyone who listens or watches the videos on Facebook.”

“Once the election is over, we plan on bringing in other leaders from various community organizations to the show and also bring back our local politicians for updates on the City’s momentum moving forward.”

The show will field calls from listeners and encourages them to ask questions by calling 860-261-7456 or on their Facebook page which will stream the show live.

State of the City airs every Sunday at 11am.

The Beat is an internet radio station, to listen you can download the free app to your Android or Apple device or listen through your PC at BristolBeat.com.

Tuesday: Early shower, fog and drizzle

Monday didn’t feel very much like July! With waves of rain and temperatures in the 60s it felt more like spring or fall! While most of the rain is done, a few lingering showers along with areas of fog and drizzle will continue tonight into Tuesday morning. Tuesday will be slightly better, but not by much. The sky will start off overcast with the chance for an isolated shower or mist. Then in the afternoon some breaks in the clouds […]
