Bristol seeks transit oriented construction services

The Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) which the City of Bristol makes use of certain contracts, is soliciting proposals for indefinite quantity construction contracts for renovations, repairs and upgrade projects for transportation related construction.

The Capitol Region Council of Governments is a voluntary Council of Governments formed to initiate and implement regional programs of benefit to the towns and the region.

It is guided by the chief elected officials of 38 Metro Hartford municipalities.

The mayors, first selectmen, and town council chairmen who make up the governing Policy Board recognize that the future of their individual members is tied to the future of our region.

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a list of highway, bridge, transit, and multimodal transportation projects in the Region scheduled to receive federal funds over the next four years. It summarizes projects by location, funding source, cost and year.

CTfastrak is a regional bus rapid transit system. Operated by Connecticut Transit, it is the first bus rapid transit system in Connecticut and the second in New England after the MBTA Silver Line.

CTfastrak opened on March 28, 2015 after fifteen years of planning and three years of construction.

Additional $2 million released for electric vehicle rebates

HARTFORD — The state of Connecticut is releasing $2 million in additional funding to continue a consumer rebate program for residents, businesses and municipalities that purchase or least eligible electric vehicles. Under the Connecticut Hydrogen and Electric Automobile Purchase Rebate Program, consumers can receive cash rebates ranging from $750 to $5,000. Trump delays policy on importing elephant parts

President Donald Trump says he’s delaying a new policy allowing the body parts of African elephants shot for sport to be imported until he can review “all conservation facts.” The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said Thursday that it will allow the importation of body parts from African elephants shot for sport. SOUTH GLASTONBURY —  This evening was a special night for the non-profit group- Intercommunity who celebrated 40 years of helping the Greater Hartford community. FOX61’s Jenn Bernstein and Lorenzo Hall joined Friday night’s celebration in South Glastonbury for their largest fundraiser of the year. The organization is a community based health organization and it provides same-day access to primary care, mental health and addiction services, and helps thousands of families every year regardless of their ability to pay for services.
