Ur Probably from Bristol If… a popular Facebook page with well over 3,000 members has started to cash mob. In this digital age cash mobs are growing in popularity across the country and in Bristol. With a click of the mouse, thousands of people can focus on a local business and send their armies filled with “cash” in their pockets to support it.
A cash mob is a group of people who assemble at a local business to make purchases. The purpose of these mobs is to support both the local businesses and the overall community. They may also serve a secondary purpose in providing social opportunities.
Jason Noon, Administrator for the site said “I decided to do a cash mob every week. We will highlight a local business on the Bristol page then schedule a cash mob for that business”.
He also said “I hope that this will help keep the small mom and pops going or show them that even though times may be rough we all appreciate them”
Last Sunday they held their first cash mob for Harvest Bakery. This weeks cash mob will be at Greer’s Chicken this Thursday.
Information about this weeks cash mob and others can be found with just a click of your mouse.
